So the gang had a great time at their Hinewai overnight stay talking with Hugh and Andrew and playing games, and, because of weather, left late morning after the snow plough and grit truck had come through on the upper roads.  Further, because of the abundance of snow continuing to top the Tourist Drive, we postponed this part of our itinerary for another day when we would have spectacular views, had a warm coffee or hot chocolate down at Akaroa Harbor, and then headed back through the snowy pass to Lincoln.  Of further note, our itinerary will again change as we chase good weather on the West Coast.  We leave on Friday for a fun-filled five days...
